MRS. EMILY GOTTSCHALK

   Emily Gottschalk started Gottschalk Music Center in Michigan with her husband, John in 1936.

   They moved to California in 1951 and after one year on J street in Modesto, they moved the store to 133 Burney Street and that has been the location ever since.

   Emily ran the store for 64 years until her retirement recently. It is quite common for people who have patronized the store to remark on how kind, friendly and generous she was to them.  Salesmen also comment on how incredible she was with the way she ran her music store.

   Besides being a business owner, Mother and Grandmother, Emily is a former trombonist, pilot and flight instructor. She still plays her piano now and then, too.

   You can't say enough about her, She is just Amazing and that is a fact!
